Combining the descriptive, cinematic storytelling he’s known for, with brooding melodies, undeniable beats, and high-energy rockers, WARFIELD is the debut solo project of She Wants Revenge lyricist and singer Justin Warfield. Infused with the spirit of early-80s Los Angeles Deathrock, classic British 80s Alternative, and modern international Dark Wave, like all projects before, Justin has drawn influence from the past, and flipped it to create something new in his own inimitable way.

Long before She Wants Revenge exploded onto the scene in 2006, Justin gained critical and mainstream attention with the 1991 Hip-Hop hit, “Season of The Vic”, followed by the 1993 QD3, Prince Paul, and self-produced debut hip-hop album, My Field Trip to Planet 9. Critically acclaimed and considered by some to be the first, “Trip-Hop” release. Justin combined his classic rock, New Wave, and Native Tongue influences to make his own version of the genre.

Having collaborated, remixed, and featured on songs ranging from Placebo, Bomb the Bass, Depeche Mode, The Chemical Brothers, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Cornershop, Gary Numan, Childish Gambino, The Crystal Method, and Handsome Boy Modeling School, Justin has also released albums from projects Dream Club, Forever Never Changes, and the 2011 Hip-Hop mixtape, The Black Hesh Cult.

But unlike past projects which were primarily meant to document a moment in time as well as play local shows with friends to celebrate the music, WARFIELD is a proper solo project, both in recording, as well as touring, and in addition to releasing 6 singles and multiple bodies of work in 2025, he will be touring extensively in North America, the UK, Australia, and all across Eastern and Western Europe.

Now, after several lifetimes of music spanning genres, styles, eras, and past lives, Deathrock Devotionals Vol I explores elements of all his past projects, but with an urgent, stripped down, hard, dark, and frenetic energy. Citing influence from Kommunity FK, Siouxsie, early Christian Death, Super Heroines, The Nymphs, Killing Joke, Skeletal Family, The Damned, Xmal Deutschland, as well as evergreen favorites The Smiths, and New Order, WARFIELD embodies the spirit of what’s come before, while pointing a way forward to what’s next.

The debut single, “All The Fun (Kiss, Kiss, Kiss)” is fast, fun, furious, youthful, and transports you to an underground all-ages party in an East LA warehouse. The follow-up, “Jet Plane” is just
that; propulsion, engines on full blast, and all go-go-go, calling to mind the B-52’s and The Pretenders, but with Justin’s own signature cadence and tone. The remainder of the EP are firstlisten
earworms, thick with the smell of clove cigarettes, fog machines, and late nights.

With Deathrock Devotionals Vol. I, WARFIELD announces an arrival, both as a solo artist with a familiar voice, and a new age of Deathrock for a generation of baby bats and OG’s alike.
